Teach One Tutoring
We provide support, training, and education to positively transform the lives of children and youth in our community. We want to provide avenues and strategies to help them improve their learning and performance on state-required assessments in reading and math and set them up for success in life. Summer Tutoring and After School Programs positively impact student performance and help our students to:
- be actively engaged,
- improve academic performance,
- increase classroom attendance,
- improve self-image, and
- increase opportunities to become productive members of society.
Teach One Academy tutoring program is hosted at the T. Vaughn Walker Center. We serve 1st through 8th-grade students. During the school year, we offer after-school tutoring for up to 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday). During the summer, we partner with the TeamKid Summer Camp to host morning tutoring sessions.
Our tutoring program focuses on improving
- reading comprehension,
- mathematics,
- homework,
- study skills,
- social-emotional skill development,
- critical thinking,
- and problem-solving strategies.
We employ certified teachers to help create an educational and motivational environment.
